The New Biodiesel: Renewable and Responsible
Alternative Energy

Biodiesel is an EPA-certified alternative fuel that can be produced from any fat source including vegetable oil, animal fat and used cooking oil. Biodiesel, like other renewable energy sources, is developed specifically to enhance the sustainability of our use of energy resources. The concept of using resources in a way that can be sustained indefinitely is not a new idea, but it is one that is justifiably receiving increased attention. While petroleum is finite, biodiesel is made from renewable resources that are abundant here in the United States.

Our primary raw material or “feedstock” is used cooking oil also known as “yellow grease”. We collect yellow grease from local restaurants free of charge and convert it to biodiesel through a transesterification process. Our strategy is a “communal” or “boutique” approach to fuel production.  We use waste vegetable oil from local restaurants to make our biodiesel.  We do not use virgin oil such as corn oil or soy oil as a raw material that will affect our nation’s food supply.

Biodiesel lowers greenhouse gas emissions and reduces our dependency on foreign oil. Biodiesel has a positive energy balance meaning that for every 3.5 units of energy produced, only 1.0 unit of energy is consumed in the production process. Biodiesel mixes easily with diesel fuel at rates between 1% and 100%, and it improves the lubricity of petroleum-based diesel fuel. The increased lubricity reduces the friction of petroleum-based diesel fuel and may result in longer equipment life and protection of fuel injectors.

The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 requires the use of 9 billion gallons of renewable fuel in 2008 for our country increasing to 36 billion gallons of renewable fuel on the market and in use by 2022. We are poised to be a major player in this industry impacting our nation’s fuel supply and decreasing our dependence on foreign oil.

Our Goal: To create small fuel production facilities across the country.   By adding more biofuel into our nation’s fuel supply we decrease our dependence on foreign oil. Our fuel production expertise helps companies manage fleet costs. Our strategic partners include municipalities, school systems and private industry. We can provide on-site fuel delivery to your fleet yard for storage or we have fuel ready at our production facility for pick up. Our fuel meets EPA’s certification standards.
